Respite support available
The Alzheimer’s Disease and Related
Disorders Respite Support Program has made respite funds available through
June 30, 2003. Eligible recipients – caregivers and people with
Alzheimer’s Disease – must live at the same address in the state of New
Hampshire.
According to Ellen Curelop, the program’s administrator, these funds
provide for assisted respite and related services for individuals with
Alzheimer’s disease and related disorders, as well as for their caregivers
who live with and care for them. Funds up to $1,200 per person are
available, depending on need. Applications are being accepted immediately,
as funds become available for a three-month period beginning April 1.
Respite care services may be provided in the individual’s home, in
adult day-care respite settings, nursing homes, assisted-living
facilities, or supported residential care facilities.
The program is administered through Life Coping, Inc. of Nashua, NH.
Individuals can apply for funds by contacting Lisa Kaim, toll free at
800-403-7993, or by e-mail at lci.respiteprogram@verizon.net. Inquiries
may also be made by mail to: ADRD Respite Support Program, c/o Life Coping
Inc., 266A Main Street, Nashua, NH 03060.
